Relamping: the easiest and economical intervention

The most common case of modernization is the simple replacement of lamps housed in the frames. Good results are obtained with LED technology sources, integrated lamps, products that integrate the power supply system, instead of traditional incandescent or halogen lamps. The integrated lamps have the same connections and the dimensions are very similar or identical. We pass from yields of about 12-20 lm / W values ​​too high, above 120 lm / W. The consumption of electricity is reduced to about a tenth. In these cases, the amortization period for the purchase and installation of new products is short: around two years at most, depending on electricity consumption.
The same replacement operation is less practical in purely economic thermals when the lamps in operation are fluorescent or with metal halides, their efficiency fluctuates between 70 and 90 lm / W. On the other hand, the advantages in terms of quality (better yield of color, elimination of IR and UV emissions) are important, as is maintenance due to the long life of light-emitting diodes. Wanting to increase the range of advantages, it is appropriate in this case to consider the possibility of replacing the devices with models equipped with LED modules of much higher efficiency (indicative higher than 180 lm / W) and a longer life.
